~ October is National Bullying Prevention Month ~
Parents Against Bullying Virginia, in partnership with the City of Newport News Initiative to End Bullying, is holding the 5th annual P.A.B. 1000 Youth March on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2pm until 5pm at CNU Pomoco Stadium.
The pep-rally style event spreads messages of self-love, inclusion and peace through school bands, artistic performances and powerful testimonies from bullying survivors. Now, in its fifth year, the 1000 Youth March continues to attract hundreds of children, parents and community leaders. It is free and open to the public.
During this year’s march, local artists, television and radio personalities will go head-to-head in a friendly “Walk-A-Thon” competition during the event. Recording artist and SWV member Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Fresh Radio’s DJ Bee and News 3 Morning Anchor Jessica Larche have signed on for the event. More local celebrities are expected to lace up their sneakers as well.
